Keep Climbing the Mountain
Moxie Ladies,
I woke up this morning with this phrase in my head: “Who do you say that I AM?” You know how you get lyrics in your head and they spin over and over until you want to scream, “STOP!” Yeah, that’s how it was. But then I paused, finally, and asked the Lord, 'Why am I hearing this?' I believe He replied something like “It’s about time you asked, silly!” Then He lovingly explained to me that when Jesus asked the disciples, “Who do you say that I AM,” that yes, the question was about Jesus, but it was also about the disciples.
Take a moment here to say this phrase out loud - Who do you say that I AM, and then apply it to yourself. Who are you? Jesus knew the journey ahead for the disciples would be grueling, and they needed to be sure of who they truly were in Christ.
History tells us that all but one of the disciples were martyred. Only someone absolutely sure of who they were could give their life for Christ.
Sweet Sisters, who are you? I encourage you to Google the question, 'Who does God say I am?' and meditate on it today, then continue onward up the mountain to be transformed by God’s love.
When Jesus arrived in the villages of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “What are people saying about who the Son of Man is?”They replied, “Some think he is John the Baptizer, some say Elijah, some Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.” He pressed them, “And how about you? Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter said, “You’re the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Matthew 16:13-16
