Moxie Ladies,
Like I said last month, I was baptized at eighteen. I went down into the water as a SINNER and came up SIN - FREE. Yet, I did not feel sanctified or purified. Yes, I declared Jesus as my Lord and Savior in front of my church congregation, which made me justified - just as if I’d never sinned - but the sanctification part had been duly left out of the baptism manual. Hehee
It's been forty-two years since that plunge. I’ve had many trials since then:
Divorce
Eating Disorder
New Marriage
Three-Step Children
Two of “Our Children”
Depression
Anxiety
Therapy
Antidepressants
Church Hurt
Spiritual Battles
Ladies, the list goes on and on, doesn’t it? I could not have navigated it all without Jesus at my side. His gentle whisper continues to lead me through the deepest valleys. Often, I’ve felt like the Samaritan Woman, but I wouldn't go back and change a thing, except maybe the white clothes I wore at my baptism. “Wink!”
Now he had to go through Samaria. So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. John 4:4-6
