Moxie Ladies,

I hope to give you a little giggle today. I have a friend who is a pickleball fanatic. She and her husband love to get outside to enjoy God’s creation and play against other couples and trade partners...just for pickleball, ladies. Get your minds out of the gutter! Smile. Maybe it’s just my mind and not yours. Hehee.

My friend keeps finding herself on the other side of the net, playing against her husband and another woman. Many of these women flirt with her husband, and she hasn’t said a word. She just stands back and watches from the other side of the net.

Isn’t this what we do, ladies? We stand back and wrestle with our fear of coming across as a B— even when the other person is clearly in the wrong!

I kindly suggested to my friend that she cross over to the other side of the net and say, “I will be playing with my husband; you can play with yours!” Well, ladies, she got a BIG kick out of that and swore she would do it.

I share this with you because I am sure my friend is not the only one in this position. I encourage you to begin to speak up for your marriage or rights.  Do this kindly, but boldly. Otherwise, I know it well: people will ramrod over you for their gain.

Today, if someone cuts in line before you in the grocery line, say, “Excuse me, I was here first.” If another woman flirts with your man. Say something creative to take back what’s yours. It's easy, peezy. Once you

do it, you’ll keep doing it, and you’ll praise God for your voice.
