Spring 2026

Dear Moxie Ladies,

As I sit down to write, I ask the Father, “Lord, what’s on Your heart today for the Moxie Ladies?”

And clear as day—I kid you not—I hear the song by the Rolling Stones called “Time Is on My Side.” The lyrics begin, “Time is on my side, yes it is… time is on my side, yes, it is.” As those first lines loop through my head, I start to wonder if they’ll ever stop. Truly, my ADD-ish mind can grab onto something like this and just run with it!

In the original version, Mick Jagger—with his BIG lips—is the singer. But in this case, with God bringing the song to mind, I start to wonder… who is doing the singing? Is it supposed to be us, or is it God?

Because if it’s us, we can start running around a little too confidently, thinking there’s no end to life in the fast lane. But then, we find out… There is an end.

I met a woman today at an open house. She was looking for a place to live. She knew my stepson—he had spoken highly of her. Her credit was rocky, and it was one of those “I know someone who knows someone” situations, if you know what I mean. That connection helped get her foot in the door.

She shared her story with me. She has a teenage son in a wheelchair. She wore a bandana, her hair just beginning to grow back after chemo. She told me she had to stop working for a season—after losing her dad, then her mom, and then her fiancé. She needed time to grieve. Honestly, if I were in her shoes, I don’t know if I’d ever stop grieving. It was so, so sad.

The next verse of Mick’s song says, “Now you always say that you want to be free… but you’ll come running back… you’ll come running back… you’ll come running back to me.”

Throughout our faith journey, many of us take a U-turn and drift back into the world for a season. I know I have. But if it’s God singing this song, then maybe it’s a promise—that even if we’ve wandered, we can always come back. We can run straight into His arms. He’s waiting, just like the father in the story of the Prodigal Son.

If your life has felt unbearably tough, and you’re not sure how you feel about God right now… or if you’ve been living in the world a little too long—don’t wait. It’s time.

I love you.

With Love ♥️& Moxie,

Kel
